Definitely nicer than my old one
This came quickly and in good shape. It was fairly easy to install, considering the wiring in my old home (I had it built in 1992) was not quite right and we had to figure out which wire was what and how the old range hood was connected to the cabinet and wall. The builders had even broken the wall behind the old range hood - hidden by the old one so I didn't know until I removed it. They had placed the wiring bundle too far to the left behind the wall and when they went to put the range hood in they tore the wall with the wire bundle to get it in the right place to wire in the range hood, it was a drywall mess. It has worked beautifully so far and the fan, any speed, isn't loud at all. I would recommend this if you need to replace an old one.

Don't be afraid
Our over the stove wall mounted microwave gave out on Christmas day 😥. But here was my chance to get a little microwave for the counter and a new range hood. Now everything is stainless steel and matches. The best part is this range hood. It was easy to install. As other reviewers have noted it is not a perfect square and there is a bit of a gap on the left side between the hood and the cabinet. If you look directly at your range hood every day from all angles and you are a perfectionist then this is not the item for you. If you are like me and the hood is close to a corner you would have to be examing the installation closely to tell there is a bit of a gap. The light is wonderful. Just use a regular bulb and it screws in behind a diffuser piece. Easy to change bulbs and no glare. This is a huge improvement over the microwave with a special ecpensive bulb that was so inaccessible my husband declared it impossible so I literally had to use a flashlight to see what I was cooking....no lie. The fan is not the strongest in the world but it's also relatively quiet. Good trade off in my opinion. The item arrived on time and securely packed. No damage. I'd buy it again. I like how it looks and the price is right. My kitchen seems much lighter and more spacious. All in all a good purchase....super perfectionists beware.

Good choice for the budget conscious
We plan to tear out and redo our kitchen in the next 5 years or so. So we didn't want to spend a lot of money on a range hood, but also didn't want something that looked awful. This range hood is not going to win any design awards, but it is good looking enough to fit in even the stylish of kitchens. The light and fan controls are functional, but basic (light on or off; fan low, high, or off). The only real consideration is if your range hood will be positioned where you will be able to see it from below. The underside of the hood is pretty ugly looking as I attempted to show in the picture I uploaded. For us this wasn't a problem as we don't see it unless we try to. If you have an open plan kitchen and the underside of the hood will be visible from the dining table or lounge then you may want something that is a little more pleasing to look at. Overall, for something so inexpensive it is certainly not cheap! I would buy again under similar circumstances. I uploaded a few pictures of it newly installed as the product shot on Amazon is more an artistic interpretation than a real product shot.

Met my expectations (which were low-to-realistic)
I ordered my range hood from Amazon warehouse deals. It was described as “acceptable” condition. I realized when ordering this likely meant unboxed, damaged and scratched but in working order. My assessment was right - box arrived beaten and weathered, corners were dented on the box and the styrofoam padding inside was not placed around the range hood to protect it. I figured it was ordered and delivered damaged to at least one other customer who then returned it to Amazon. There was a large dent in the front of the unit along the top mounting edge. I was able to flatten it with careful work using a block of wood and a hammer from the inside. I don’t need my appliances to be 100% perfect in appearance and figured that for $30 there would be some damage. The dent is hardly noticeable. The unit works just fine, the light and switch work and the fan runs at both speeds. Overall a bit low on power and really no match for a ducted exhaust fan when it comes to cooking, smoke, oil or odorous burns. But the unit met my expectations and so did the terms of “acceptable condition.” So five stars.

Exactly as described.
This is exactly what I needed to complete my stainless steel kitchen appliance collection. It fits perfectly and was to easy to install. I used the wiring that was on my old unit to hook this one up. It looks great and works great too.

I would have liked to have one that is vented to the outside ...
We purchased this hood for a full kitchen remodel. I would have liked to have one that is vented to the outside but due to the kitchen design, it would have been expensive and would have resulted the project not being a do it yourself job. The installation was easy. Any experienced do-it-yourselfer should not have any issues with the installation. The shipping was super fast! As far as the performance, the fan does a great job of moving air and filtering it. It prevents the steam from escaping all over the kitchen and does a decent job of filtering out odors, however, not as well as a fan that is vented externally but that is to be expected.

FITS PERFECT in my Tiny House!
LOVE THIS! IT's painfully difficult to find a stainless steel range hood that is 24" AND vents inside! This thing is AMAZING in my tiny house, HIGHLY recommend- it was SOOO easy to install, and it's light weight- very powerful- and I definitely use it as a shelf, which I didn't intend to, and it's probably not made for it, but in a tiny house- the next thing I knew, I had all my spiced, oils, vinegar, sugar etc, so conveniently sitting on it as a shelf, and it holds it without hesitation. Can't say enough good things about this unit! You wont be disappointed!

Well made and simple to install.
I replaced a 43 year old mobile-home range hood because I was never able to use it due to the exhaust fan vent closure flap never working and the hole faced north; the direction we get all of our extreme cold and winter wind from so I had sealed the fan opening off. In the winter time if I did not keep the cupboards above open my cooking oils would freeze. The grease continued to build up even with continual cleaning until I could not stand it any more. I did not know they made a non-outside-vented hood range until I went looking for a new vent hood. Because the lip of the cupboard is a bit lower than the actual base of the cupboard I had to use some 3/4" plywood (2 pieces of 2" x 11") as "spacers" on both ends to make the hood level. I attached them to the bottom of the cupboard and then used shorter screws to attach the hood to the plywood. I used styrofoam insulation and heating-duct tape to seal off the original vent opening. The fan is very quiet and i could feel the difference in the low and high speeds although neither of them were real powerful. I have yet to need to use the fan since with the hot weather we are still having I have not used the stove top to cook any fatty foods. I like the white verse the brushed aluminum of the original hood; it makes it look lighter and brighter and should be easier to wipe off each time I clean. I did install this by myself and the only time it would have been convenient to have help is when I went to lift it up and attach it to the cupboard - I am just over 5' and of retirement age, but I made a couple of props to hold up the back and other side while attaching the first side. There are only two colored wires (white and black) which you need only to attach to the original white and black wires, and then attach the ground wire to the green screw. There is a plate covering the wires held on by a small black screw. There are 4 short screws provided (but I used longer and wider threaded screws) for attaching the hood.

Excellent Range Hood
This is an exact replacement for the Kenmore range hood that was put in my house 15 years ago. Obviously made in the same factory because it is identical in every aspect. That made it super easy to swap it out in 15 minutes. I was upgrading from white to stainless steel and this did the trick for matching our new oven. A lot of reviews mention the fan is noisy and the light cover is unattractive. This is not a high-end hood for chefs - it is your average range hood for middle class people who just want a basic range hood. I'm 6 feet tall and I can't see my light bulb cover when I stand in front of it. If I were shorter, I would be able to see the plastic light bulb cover, but that wouldn't bother me. The fan sounds like a standard cheaper fan so it isn't really quiet, but that isn't important to me for a nice looking range hood at this price point. If you can hear the fan running, it means somebody is cooking. That's a good thing!

Works great, looks great
Works great, looks great. Only thing I don't like is there's no undercarriage covering the ugly interior, but that's not the product's fault, that's my budgets fault so I still gave it 5 stars.
