We have no problem with customers arriving at 1 minute to go... as long as they’re gone in 60 seconds. My company pays our staff an additional 15 minutes to do the ‘closing’. The fun begins when a customer wants to purchase alcohol and our licence only allows to sell that up until 23:00, the tills don’t allow us to scan it as soon as it says 23:01... So we tell customers in the last 5 minutes the situation... they arrive at 23:01 and we can’t sell it to them. Like I said, Fun.

Restaurante owner speaking... that's not a problem coming in with 1 minute before the kitchen closes, not at all. Even after the closure of the restaurant... the least we, the staff, expect is that you have the minimum respect for the people that are not there to be you "security guard" while you have a safe conversation about your day with your husband Susan! Well back in the day the shop closed their door five minutes before closing time so that you couldn’t get in but only out. After the first time you knew you had to be early. Nowadays they only close their doors at that time and employees don’t get paid after their official working hours, but still have to work. It’s absolutely stupid.
