Cho 180g cơm vào tô lớn, nêm vào 2g muối, 2g tiêu xay và trộn cho cơm thấm đều gia vị. Bao tay bằng găng tay nilon, lấy một lượng cơm vừa phải cho vào giữa lòng bàn tay, dàn mỏng ra. Sau đó, lấy một miếng phô mai nhỏ đặt vào giữa, thêm một ít hạt bắp lên trên. Lấy thêm ít cơm cho lên rồi bọc và vo tròn lại. Làm cho đến khi hết nguyên liệu. Chuẩn bị khay nướng có lót giấy nếm, đặt viên cơm lên, phết chút dầu ăn lên cơm.
Bật lò nướng trước ở 220 độ C khoảng 10 phút. Khi lò đã nóng, đặt khay cơm vào và nướng từ 15 - 20 phút là viên cơm đã chín giòn bên ngoài và phô mai bên trong cũng tan chảy. Lấy khay nướng ra, cẩn thận gắp viên cơm lên dĩa và chấm ăn cùng tương ớt, sốt mayonnaise.
